Department of Contemporary Dance
The Department of Contemporary Dance is a unique program that treats students as emerging artists from the moment they arrive. Students stage their own choreographies, collaborate across disciplines, and perform in new works created by their peers.
Program Overview
The program provides students with the conditions to discover and define their own aesthetic, method, and process, in a learning environment that embraces an inclusive artistic relationship between mentor and student.
Special Funding
Up to $4,000 in special funding is available for out-of-province students in undergraduate programs.
Performances
Students have numerous opportunities to present their work and take part in performances throughout the year. The department hosts various events, including the Wild Talks Lecture Series, Collaboration in Choreographic Practices, and Capstone Outcome.
