Program Overview

The Master Public Management is a flexible program that allows students to study at their own pace. The program consists of nine components and can be tailored to meet individual needs and ambitions.

Program Structure

• The program includes five compulsory master classes:
  • Masterclass HR & the Public Manager
  • Masterclass Politics, Policy & Strategy
  • Masterclass Financial Management & Business Operations
  • Masterclass Ethics & Public Values
  • Masterclass Academic Skills & Methodology
• Two elective modules, each consisting of two master classes:
  • Optional module Policy & Technology:
    • Masterclass Public Digital Security
    • Masterclass Digital Transformation in the public sector
  • Optional module Organization:
    • Masterclass Risk Leadership in the public sector
    • Masterclass Social Transformation
• An international study trip
• A thesis

Study Load and Assessment

The average study load for the full Master Public Management program is 15-20 hours per week. For individual masterclasses, the study load is approximately 12 hours per week. Each masterclass is assessed separately through the completion of a case study or assignment that applies acquired knowledge and insights to a concrete topic from the student's own organization.

Expected Outcomes

Upon completing the Master Public Management, students can apply the acquired knowledge and insights from various scientific disciplines. The program teaches students to recognize and translate the changing relationships between 'public' and 'private' into their own organization. It also approaches questions from the student's own organization in a multidisciplinary, creative, and analytical manner.

Flexibility and Combination with Work

The master's program is flexible and can be combined with a current job. It offers a good mix between theory and practice, with academic literature continuously linked to case studies and practical experiences of the participants.

Thesis and Practical Application

It is possible to use a question from the student's own organization for the thesis. This means the organization receives high-quality advice. The program ensures that academic knowledge is directly translated into the workplace.
