Professional Academy Diploma in Digital Product Management

The Professional Academy Diploma in Digital Product Management is a practical course that teaches the theory and best practice underpinning successful digital product management. Students will learn the tools, methodologies, and frameworks relevant to managing digital products.


Course Description

This highly interactive course will introduce students to the concepts and principles involved in running digital product development projects. Students will learn to create a roadmap, build their business case, and look at the technologies and architecture supporting their product design. Having analyzed the market opportunity, students will be confident in managing each stage of the product lifecycle to deliver a high-performance digital product whilst controlling both cost and risk.


Course Modules

The course consists of 12 modules:


  1. Digital Product Management & Product Thinking: Discover what to expect from the course and how it is assessed. Learn about digital product management and its application, understanding the differences between traditional product management and digital product management.
  2. Product Management Fundamentals: Understand digital product fundamentals and the impact they have on successful implementation. Discover the different strategic frameworks and key elements such as roadmaps and building a business case.
  3. Culture, Teams & Leadership: Discover the role of the digital product manager and understand their sphere of influence. Understand the importance of product thinking and a digital mindset.
  4. Product Planning: Learn about product processes and product lifecycle management. Learn to identify interdependencies between product management knowledge areas. Discover agile methodologies.
  5. Agile Product Management: Learn how agile project management helps to build digital products using short cycles of work that allow for rapid production and constant revision. Discover themes, features, epics, and user stories.
  6. Digital Product Design & Architecture: Discover the digital product delivery process and how to address business decisions through technical design. Learn to leverage the technology stack to enable fast, reliable, and scalable digital product delivery.
  7. Digital Product Management Applied: Ecommerce & Mobile: Discover minimal viable products (MVPs). Expanding on the previous lesson, learn about supporting mobile and digital technology in digital product delivery discover principles, standards, and best practices for technology decisions.
  8. Digital Platforms & Techniques: Learn how to plan, develop, and manage a successful and user-focused digital product for different platforms. Understand and use appropriate tools and techniques.
  9. Digital Development Technologies: Discover the purpose and principles of digital development technologies, including application programming interfaces (APIs) for client-side web application development. Explore the mobile tech stack: responsive, apps, native, and hybrids.
  10. Digital Product Analytics: Learn how to measure the success of digital products (what to measure and why). Understand the metrics frameworks that product-led growth businesses should be tracking.
  11. Digital Product Marketing: Learn how to make product marketing a cross-functional powerhouse: from positioning to designing a measurable product launch.
  12. The Digital Product Process: Building The Product: Get buy-in for your project by learning how to build a product management business case - with supporting documentation - demonstrating external market influences and internal product considerations.

Assessment

This course is assessed through short quizzes (30%) and a written assignment (70%). Two short quizzes will be held on weeks 8 and 11 to assess understanding of the concepts learned. The written assignment will be submitted within two weeks of the end of the course and should be up to 4,000 words long.

Student care is a high priority, with a Student Services team on hand to support students throughout their time with the academy. All students are given access to the Student Portal, where they can see their timetable, access all their study materials, and manage their account.


Payment Options

Students can secure their spot on most courses with a low 30% deposit. The remaining balance can be paid in two equal installments (30 and 60 days later). For full-time Bootcamp courses, students can secure their spot with a 50% deposit, with the remaining balance due prior to the start of their course.
