The EngD Smart Buildings & Cities program at Eindhoven University of Technology is a 2-year post-master's degree that focuses on designing and developing innovative solutions for the built environment. The program is designed to provide young professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to address complex technological problems and design issues in the field of smart buildings and cities.
Focus Areas
The program focuses on two main areas:
- A carbon neutral city: designing intelligent and energy-efficient building components and concepts, renewable energy generation and storage in the built environment, and intelligent networks aimed at matching supply and demand.
- A climate proof, healthy and circular city: designing buildings and cities that mitigate the effects of climate change, are based on the principles of circular economy, promote healthy living, and improve quality of life in the built environment.
Curriculum
The SBC Curriculum consists of 120 ECTS and includes various courses that help trainees improve their design skills, professional skills (communication, teamwork, management, entrepreneurship), and individual disciplinary knowledge related to their project and background.
