The Diploma of Specialization in Manual Physiotherapy in Locomotor System Disorders is a program that focuses on the theoretical and practical knowledge of manual physiotherapy in the treatment and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders.
Information General
Presentation
Manual physiotherapy of the locomotor system is an area of great interest that encompasses branches of knowledge within the applied sciences of rehabilitation, physiotherapy, and associated disciplines. It focuses on physiotherapeutic treatment and the prevention of pain of musculoskeletal origin, derived from orthopedic, traumatic, and rheumatological pathologies, as well as functional recovery in the pre and postoperative phases of reparative and replacement surgery of related injuries.
Objectives
The objectives of this program are to:
- Form physiotherapists in theoretical and practical knowledge related to the assessment, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal disorders.
- Provide physiotherapists with adequate strategies for continuous training and improvement, both in manual and technological aspects, and enable them to extract clinical benefits from evidence-based practice and practice-based evidence.
- Establish strategies for students with visual impairments to have the same formative opportunities as sighted students.
- Provide students with a specific and multidisciplinary qualification that allows them to know the latest advanced techniques in the area of physiotherapy of the locomotor system.
- Enable physiotherapists to face patients with musculoskeletal system disorders with security and solvency.
- Develop the necessary qualities to work in multidisciplinary teams related to the field of physiotherapy care.

Employability
Practices
One of the objectives of the Title is to enable students to face patients with musculoskeletal system disorders with security and solvency. To achieve this, practical simulations will be carried out in the classroom throughout the training program.
Professional Outlets
There is a significant lack of specialized physiotherapists in the private and public care fields who can propose advanced strategies for the prevention and treatment of musculoskeletal system disorders. The epidemiological data related to chronic musculoskeletal pain indicate that this condition is increasing year by year, so the demand for specialized professionals will continue to grow.
