Program Overview
The complementary education for physiotherapists with a foreign degree from a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to practice as physiotherapists in Sweden.
Program Structure
The program consists of several courses, including:
- UndersŲkning och interventioner inom evidensbaserad fysioterapi 1 (5 hp)
- Fysioterapeuten i interprofessionell samverkan i yrkeslivet, 10 hp
- Fysioterapi som šmne och yrke inom svensk hšlso- och sjukvŚrd (5 hp)
Program Organization
The program is organized by the Utbildningsnšmnden NVS (Education Committee), which has the overall responsibility for the implementation and coordination of the program. The committee is assisted by several sub-committees, working groups, and administrative staff.
Utbildningsnšmnden NVS
The Utbildningsnšmnden NVS is responsible for ensuring the integration and progression of courses within the program. The committee's tasks include:
- Quality assurance and development of the program
- Allocation of education assignments to institutions
- Establishment of course plans
- Financial and result follow-up
- Identification of suitable forms for collaboration between programs
ProgramrŚd
The ProgramrŚd (Program Council) is an advisory body that supports the program director. The council works with:
- Program content, structure, evaluation, and development
- Preparation of program-specific issues for decision-making within the Utbildningsnšmnden NVS
- Course revision and follow-up of course evaluations in relation to the education plan's goals
The ProgramrŚd consists of:
- Program director and deputy program director
- Yearly responsible for each year (1-3) of the physiotherapy program
- Coordinator for freestanding courses and commissioned education
- VIL coordinator
- Study advisor
- Education administrator
- Student representative
Studiesociala kommittťn
The Studiesociala kommittťn (Studies Social Committee) deals with individual student cases and overarching student welfare issues, working under secrecy. The committee includes two teacher representatives, one of whom is decision-making, and a study advisor who is the administrator. Examples of studies social issues include:
- Study breaks
- Resumption of studies
- Applications for exemptions from eligibility requirements (so-called dispensation cases)
- Applications for study location changes
- Special student cases
