The University of Hamburg offers a dual training program for Business Administration Clerks, which typically lasts three years and takes place at the vocational school and in the company.

Program Description

The training program combines theoretical instruction at the vocational school (e.g., accounting, German) and practical work in the company (e.g., office organization, customer contact). The program includes a intermediate examination in the second year of training and a final examination at the end, which consists of written and oral parts, to obtain the title of Business Administration Clerk.

Practical Part at the Training Location

Requirements for Trainees

There is no legally prescribed school diploma required for the training program. However, applicants with a secondary school diploma (e.g., Realschulabschluss) or higher education entrance qualification are preferred. Good grades in German, mathematics, and English, as well as pronounced organizational skills, careful working methods, good computer skills, and good expression skills in word and writing, are also important.
