Sports Integrity Management Course

Introduction

The Sports Integrity Management course is designed to provide participants with practical skills and knowledge to manage their sport's integrity programs and mitigate risks from external and internal threats. The course focuses on the increased need for sporting organizations to take on increased responsibilities and manage integrity threats in their sports.

Managing Complaints & Breaches

• Compliant assessment & handling
• Allegations of a breach
• Running an investigation internally
• Managing an external independent investigation
• Report writing

Ensuring Fair Outcomes

• Reviewing investigation reports
• Substantiating alleged breaches
• The dispute resolution process
• Finalising the complaint / breach

Learning Outcomes

At the completion of this sports management integrity course, participants will:

• Understand why integrity is critical to sport and why it receives so much focus and funding
• Know what their sport needs to do to comply with government requirements and legislation
• Gain a deeper insight into the exposure of and pressures faced by the participants and member organisations in their sport
• Learn how their sporting organisation may be exposed to external threats
• Manage complaints and alleged breaches in a more effective and efficient manner
• Conduct and advise on dispute resolution processes that protect their sport while ensuring fair outcomes for stakeholders involved
• Leave the course with deeper knowledge and practical skills to enhance their performance in their role

Intended Audience

This sports management integrity course is designed for board members, leaders, and integrity officers within sporting organisations, but is also relevant for other personnel responsible for ensuring integrity and mitigating against risks associated with breaches, as well as for related stakeholders.

Delivery Style

The course will be delivered online, via a live video link (Zoom) a reliable internet connection is required. Video connection details and teaching materials will be made available to participants prior to the course.

About the Presenter
