The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) offers a range of programs through its Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS).
Bachelor of International Studies
The Bachelor of International Studies is a key program that plays a significant role in the internationalisation of the UTS teaching and learning experience. This program enables students to develop essential skills, including:
- Intercultural communication skills
- Professional workplace skills through work-integrated learning experiences
- Research skills in international contexts
These skills are embedded in core learning experiences that teach students about:
- Cultural diversity and social change in Asia and Europe
- Processes of regionalisation, internationalisation, transnationalism, and globalisation, as well as their local receptions
- A suite of Asian and European language and culture subjects
Combined Bachelor's-Level Degrees
The Bachelor of International Studies can be combined with most other bachelor's-level degrees at UTS.
Bachelor of Sustainability and Environment
The Bachelor of Sustainability and Environment is a combined course with the following bachelor's-level degrees at UTS:
- Bachelor of Science
- Bachelor of Public Health
- Bachelor of Business
- Bachelor of Management
- Bachelor of Economics
Bachelor of Criminology
The Bachelor of Criminology is also available as a combined course with the following bachelor's-level degrees at UTS:
- Bachelor of Forensic Science
- Bachelor of International Studies
Diploma in Languages
The University also offers the Diploma in Languages (C20059) and the Australian Language and Culture Studies.
Research Areas
Staff in International Studies conduct research in areas including:
- Cultural diversity and social change in Asia and Europe
- Processes of regionalisation, internationalisation, transnationalism, and globalisation
- Asian and European language and culture subjects
Staff also supervise research students completing higher degrees by research in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
