Kurs 2: Infektionsepidemiologi och Vaccinologi
This course consists of two parts:
- The first part (4.5 hp) deals with the principles of protective immunity against infectious diseases, vaccine construction and function, vaccine development and approval, and vaccination program design.
- The second part (10.5 hp) focuses on epidemiological concepts and principles for study design, methods for detecting and managing outbreaks and epidemics, and hands-on experience with data handling and calculations of infectious outbreaks.
Kurs 4: Examensarbete
In the final course, students undertake a master's thesis that is part of the master's program in Medical Microbiology with a focus on infection control and healthcare hygiene. The thesis and completed course give 15 higher education credits. The thesis is done independently but under supervision.
