Introduction to the Program
The Teknik och ekonomi program at KTH is designed for students who want to combine knowledge in business administration and technology. This program is an open entrance for higher education engineering studies starting in the spring semester, unlike other programs. As a graduate with a degree in engineering and economics, you can be an important link between technical and economic perspectives in societal development.

Education
KTH's higher education engineering programs are professional programs that provide the technical competence needed in most industries today. You become a problem-solving engineer with a good understanding of how economics and technology are jointly the basis for a company's development. The education focuses on courses in economics during the first semester. From the second semester, you choose to deepen your knowledge in one of the technical specializations: Data, Electrical, Chemical, Construction, or Medical technology. The education ends with a thesis that is usually carried out by processing a question from an external organization, often a company, which you solve as a deepening of your studies and application of what you have learned at KTH.

Student Life
The student life at KTH consists of much more than just studies. As a student on Teknik och ekonomi, you belong to the Ingenjörssektionen Flemingsberg during the first semester. Which section you belong to for the remaining semesters depends on the specialization you choose for semester 2. The sections at KTH are part of the Tekniska Högskolans Studentkĺr (THS) and are run by the students themselves. They exist to promote social student life, develop the quality of education, and strengthen contact with the business community. In addition to the sections, there are also several student associations for sports, revues, events, careers, or various social special interests.
International Opportunities
KTH offers many opportunities for foreign studies. Carrying out part of your studies abroad is an opportunity to sharpen your CV, discover the world, and make friends for life. Having experience of exchange studies can prepare you for work and contacts with other countries. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunities available and read a semester at one of KTH's many partner universities around the world. Teknik och ekonomi for a Sustainable World
The education teaches you to understand and develop solutions for several of the global goals for sustainable development, primarily the goals of Decent work and economic growth, Industry, innovation, and infrastructure, and Sustainable consumption and production. You develop competence in "economics" in the basic sense of "managing resources," and learn to:

- Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and promote innovation.
- Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
