نظرة عامة على البرنامج
MF2077 Machine Design Advanced Course Part II
The MF2077 Machine Design Advanced Course Part II is a 12.0 credit course that focuses on the detail design phase of the product development process. Machine design involves the design of a wide range of products, from complex machines to simpler products such as bicycle transmissions. The course aims to prepare students for their upcoming work as engineers or product developers, providing them with knowledge and skills in planning, participating, and leading product development work.
Course Description
The course covers the design of components and subsystems of complex mechanical products, from concepts to manufacturing documentation and prototype. Students will learn to apply model-based product development in simulation and verification of product concepts during the detail design phase. The course also emphasizes the importance of eco-friendly design and the application of previously acquired knowledge in mechanics, solid mechanics, electrical engineering, product development, and industrial design.
Intended Learning Outcomes
After passing the course, students should be able to:
- Plan and participate in the development of integrated and modular products
- Design and detail both components and subsystems of complex mechanical products
- Apply model-based product development in simulation and verification of product concepts
- Design and analyze both components and subsystems of complex products in an engineering way
- Generate loads for both components and complex mechanical units
- Apply principles of eco-friendly design during the detail design phase
- Apply previously acquired knowledge in various engineering fields
- Apply basic criteria for constructive design
Literature and Preparations
The course requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, as well as the completion of specific prerequisite courses, including Machine Design Advanced Course Part I, Tribology, and Robust and Probabilistic Design.
Examination and Completion
The course is graded on a scale of A to F, with examinations including projects, assignments, and oral assessments. The examiner may adapt the examination format for students with documented disabilities.
Further Information
The course is offered by the ITM/SKD GRU department, with Mechanical Engineering as the main field of study. It is part of the second cycle of education and is available only for TIPUM study year 2, track IPUB (mandatory) students.
