MA Education SEND (Special Education Needs and Disability)
The MA Education SEND programme is designed to develop students' understanding of best practice in Special Education Needs and Disability (SEND) and inclusive education provision. This programme will enable students to gain an understanding of local and international SEND provision, strategy, and policy. Additionally, the wider socio-cultural influences on SEND provision, including the influence of cultural and historical context, will be explored.

- Social Pedagogy (30 Credits) - Compulsory
- Approaches to Inclusion (30 Credits) - Compulsory
Social Pedagogy
This module considers education as something which individuals, groups, and societies can experience throughout their life. It invites students to consider education as something that happens both beyond and within institutions. It also considers education as a human right that enables children and adults to learn and develop.
Approaches to Inclusion
This module aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to create inclusive educational environments. Students will critically evaluate the resources and supports required for diverse learners, analyse inclusive education practices in local and international contexts, and explore policies and best practices.
Programme Content
The programme will develop students' understanding of best practice SEND and inclusive education provision. Students will gain an understanding of local and international SEND provision, strategy, and policy. As part of this programme, the student will develop an understanding of research and evidence in SEND practice, policy, and implementation. Students will be encouraged to develop leadership and management skills related to SEND coordination, delivery, partnership, and management.

- Yearly Fees - January 26: 74,263 (all tuition fees inclusive of VAT)
- Yearly Fees - September 26: 76,490 (all tuition fees inclusive of VAT)
Entry Requirements
- Academic Requirements: Minimum second-class honours degree (UK) or above, or overseas equivalent qualification is required. Currently employed or have work experience in the field of education, or professionals looking for career advancement.
- English Language Requirements (Postgraduate):
- IELTS Academic: 6.5 (with 6.0 in each component)
- TOEFL Internet-based: 79 (Reading min 18, Writing min 21, Listening min 17, Speaking min 20)
- Pearson PTE Academic: 59 (with 59 in all components)
- Dubai Campus MDX Internal English Test: 6.5 (with 6.0 in each component)
Teaching
Classes are held at the Dubai Knowledge Park campus on weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Occasional weekend or holiday sessions may also be scheduled with prior notice. Most modules include one session per week, with exceptions noted in the timetable.
