BA Honours Advertising, PR and Branding

The BA Honours Advertising, PR and Branding programme is a dynamic and AI-friendly course that directly responds to an ever-changing business and technology environment. Developed with industry partners, the degree is accredited by the International Advertising Association (IAA), providing students with the skills, experiences, and contacts needed to succeed in this exciting industry.


Programme Overview

The programme explores a broad range of subjects and practices within the fields of advertising, PR, and branding, from creative advertising and promotional video production to social media PR and place branding. Students learn about the traditional differences between paid, earned, and owned media, as well as the ways in which brand communications are transforming this media landscape.

Entry Requirements

  • Indian Secondary School Certificates: minimum grade of 65% overall
  • British A-Levels: minimum two or three with grades AA / BBC
  • GCSE: students who have completed their GCSEs are eligible to join the International Foundation Programme
  • International Baccalaureate: students must have passed the full IB Diploma with 24 28 Points
  • American High School Diploma: minimum GPA of 2.8, with SAT scores of 1100 or an ACT composite score of 23
  • Tawjihiyya (Secondary School Certificate): students are eligible to apply for the International Foundation Programme
  • Pakistani National Curriculum: completion of Year 1 at a recognised post-secondary institution
  • Iranian Pre-University Certificate: minimum overall grade of 12
  • Nigerian Senior School Leaving Certificate: candidates are admitted to the International Foundation Programme
  • National Curriculum of the countries of Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan: candidates are admitted to the International Foundation Programme
  • West African GCE: candidates are admitted to the International Foundation Programme
  • BTEC Level 3: BTEC qualifications may be considered for direct entry into an undergraduate programme
  • Middlesex University International Foundation Programme (IFP): successful completion of the IFP
  • NCUK Foundation Qualification: students can contact the admissions team directly to understand entry requirement eligibility

English Language Requirements

  • IELTS Academic: 6.0 (minimum 5.5 in each band)
  • TOEFL Internet-based: 72 (17 in listening & writing, 20 in speaking and 18 in reading)
  • Pearson PTE Academic: 59 (with 59 in all components)
  • Dubai Campus MDX Internal English Test: 6.0 (with 5.5 in each component)

Teaching

Classes are held at the Dubai Knowledge Park campus, Monday to Friday, between 8:30am and 5:30pm. Students will be involved in a range of learning, teaching, and assessment approaches, including working and learning as part of small groups. The programme requires active involvement and collaboration with fellow students.


Future Career and Employment

As a graduate, students can start a career in social media management, digital content creation, client servicing within a marketing or advertising agency, perform internal communications, or work in the communications department of commercial or non-profit organisations. The Advertising, PR, and Branding programme will allow students to graduate into professional APRB-related fields and develop quickly to be managers, directors, or even start their own firm.
