MQBS3010 Agility and Excellence in Business
General Information
The unit convenor and teaching staff for this course are led by Prashan Karunaratne, with lecturers from across each MQBS Department. This course-wide Capstone unit is designed to be taken by students in their final session of study within the Bachelor of Commerce.

- Prerequisites: Admission to BCom and 130cp at 1000 level or above including 10cp at 3000 level

- Unit description: This unit is designed to integrate the discipline-specific knowledge acquired within the course and address practical business challenges requiring cross-disciplinary and cross-functional insights, knowledge, and skills.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this unit, students will be able to:
- Integrate discipline-specific knowledge and skills and apply subject knowledge critically, analytically with appreciation of cross-disciplinary requirements.
- Identify and analyse issues from a variety of ethical and sustainability positions as applied to the business context.
- Reflect on outcomes of working in multi-functional teams to apply teamwork knowledge and skills for effective collaboration to achieve business solutions in a range of contexts.

- The Agility Exercise
- The Capstone Report
- The Capstone Presentation These assessments are connected to the project worked on as a team from Week 03 onwards.
Assessment Tasks
The unit has the following assessment tasks:
- Reflective Essay (20%): A 2,000-word reflective essay due on 09/03/2025.
- Agility Exercise (20%): A case study/analysis due on 17/04/2025.
- Capstone Project Presentation (20%): A presentation due on 06/06/2025.
- Capstone Project Report (40%): A report due on 10/06/2025.

The unit is delivered through a combination of lectures and tutorials, with an expectation of 3 hours of learning and teaching activities per week.
