HumanIA: Mastering the Ethical Challenges of Artificial Intelligence - Module 2

Overview

The "HumanIA: Mastering the Ethical Challenges of Artificial Intelligence" module is the second step in the comprehensive "HumanIA: Designing and Deploying AI through Digital Humanities" course offered by the Faculty of Letters at Sorbonne University. This short, intensive course is organized into three complementary modules that can be taken separately and is aimed at a wide audience, including leaders, engineers, project managers, journalists, teachers, and anyone interested in better understanding the ethical, social, political, and legal challenges of AI.

Day 1

  • 10:30 am - Ethics of Artificial Intelligence: Jean-Cassien Billier, Lecturer at Sorbonne University
  • 12:00 pm - Sociology of Artificial Intelligence: Pierre-Marie Chauvin, Lecturer at Sorbonne University 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm - Lunch break
  • 2:00 pm - Language, Linguistics, and Artificial Intelligence: Motasem Alrahabi, Research Engineer at Sorbonne University
  • 4:00 pm - Analysis of a case study, Notre-Dame Numérique: Plemo3D 6:00 pm - End of the day

Day 2

  • 9:00 am - Discrimination and Artificial Intelligence: Raphaële Xenidis, Lecturer at Sciences Po Paris
  • 11:00 am - Sociology of Artificial Intelligence: Jean-Philippe Cointet, Professor at Sciences Po Paris 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm - Lunch break
  • 2:00 pm - Analysis of a case study, Artistic Creation by Artificial Intelligence: Xavier Fresquet, Deputy Director of SCAI, Jérôme Nico, Nicolas Obin, IRCAM, Obvious/Hugo Caselles-Dupré 5:00 pm - End of the day

Methods

Alternation of theoretical contributions and supervised practical work, participative and inverted pedagogy, individual or group mini-projects.


Course materials and slides, videos, exercises, readings, notebook. Each participant must bring their laptop. Sometimes, software needs to be installed (a detailed message will be sent to participants in advance).


Evaluation Modalities

Final evaluation of acquired notions (QCM) leading to a digital certificate.
