Master 2 in Environmental Management
نظرة عامة على البرنامج
Master 2 in Environmental Management | Burkina Faso
The environment is a major asset for the development of the African continent. Its preservation and optimization of resources in a perspective of sustainable development largely condition the future of Africa and, beyond, the entire planet.
To respond to this considerable challenge, the training of highly qualified specialists and experts in environmental management is a priority in Africa.
The Master 2 "Environmental Management" program, approached in a multidisciplinary and holistic manner, aims to train high-level practitioners who are perfectly operational and capable of addressing major environmental themes and issues (ecology, agroforestry, climate change, water, natural parks, forests, waste, etc.) in their specific aspects related to African countries. Thus, the best practices, technologies, knowledge, and expertise are highlighted and taught to promote environmentally respectful development that, on the one hand, avoids reproducing harmful consumption and production patterns and, on the other hand, integrates African realities in their ecological, social, economic, and political aspects (including, for example, the issue of decentralization). This approach aims for sustainable development and, above all, the development of endogenous capacities in environmental matters at the African continent level.
The University of Senghor, an international university serving African development, has been decentralizing a set of professional diploma-granting training programs on the ground in 7 African countries, including Burkina Faso, since 2011. The training in the field of management is precisely at the heart of its competencies.
These "Senghor Campuses" are designed to promote the rapid and operational employability of African executives, in response to the real needs of the African continent expressed by professional actors. This is why these specialized programs rely on professional expertise and international, regional, and local professorial resources.
The auditors are mostly professionals in activity. This flexible formula allows a multiplied number of private and public sector managers or civil society members to access high-level international training, adapted to field realities, without leaving their professional environment.
The Master's program takes place at the Institute for Initial and Continuing Education of the University of Ouaga II in Ouagadougou. It is sanctioned by a diploma from the University of Senghor recognized by CAMES.
