The Tourism programme at Dubai College of Tourism is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the tourism industry. Tourism is a rapidly growing sector in Dubai, and this programme aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in this field.

Programme Overview

The one-year Certificate programme in Tourism Operations explores various topics, including global destinations, travel agency operations, tour guiding, sustainability, and other industry-related subjects. Upon completion of the Certificate programme, students can progress to the two-year Advanced Diploma in Tourism and Hotel Management.

Certificate Programme

• Duration: One academic year
• Study Mode: Full-time
• Intake: Autumn (September)
• Tuition Fee: 25,000 AED The Certificate programme covers core units that provide fundamental business and academic skills required in any tourism-related position. These units include cultural awareness and workplace communication, service skills fundamentals, and destination marketing. Students also study specialized units that give them a broad knowledge of the key components of the tourism sector.

Advanced Diploma Programme

• Credit Hours: 132
• Duration: Two academic years
• Study Mode: Full-time
• Intake: Autumn (September)
• Tuition Fee: 25,000 AED per year The Advanced Diploma programme focuses on teaching students supervisory, teamwork, and leadership skills. Students have the opportunity to tailor their studies to suit their career aspirations through a selection of optional modules. The programme includes a longer industry internship placement of 4 months in Year 2 and another 4 months in Year 3.

Academic Progression Opportunity

Dubai College of Tourism has a collaboration with Edinburgh Napier University (ENU) in Scotland, UK, which allows graduates of the Advanced Diploma in Tourism and Hotel Management to pursue internationally recognized bachelor's degrees at ENU. Students can choose from:

• BA (Hons) International Tourism Management (Years 3 & 4, study in the UK)
• BA (Hons) International Hospitality Management (Years 3 & 4, study in the UK)
• BA Business Management (Year 3 Top-Up, study online)

Accreditation

The programme is accredited by the Ministry of Education (MOE), valid until 28.09.2027.
