Proposals for Academic Year
Since its opening in 2009, 19 WSN has hosted over 20 exhibitions featuring photography, painting, and works on paper in its multi-purpose Events Space. With a focus on connectivity to NYUAD, the exhibitions highlight research projects of faculty and researchers from across NYU's schools. It has also featured creative works by many leading artists.
We invite NYU New York, NYU Abu Dhabi, and NYU Shanghai faculty to propose exhibitions for the space in order to continue to promote synergy across NYU's campuses. Exhibition proposals with faculty from more than one NYU campus will be given special consideration.
The NYUAD Art Gallery continues to be an integral thought partner in the annual planning of the curatorial program, and often facilitates bringing exhibitions from the Gallery or Project Space on Saadiyat Island to the New York campus.
Exhibitions may be accompanied by artist talks, scholarly panels, or lectures with support from the NYU Abu Dhabi Institute or a 19 Washington Square North Program Grant.
Criteria
- Only 2-D works can be accepted due to the limitations of the exhibition space.
