Program Overview

The Journalism Latin American and Caribbean Studies program requires a total of 46 credits, consisting of 22 Journalism credits and 24 CLACS credits.

Program Requirements

Journalism Requirements

• WRR I and II
• 3 Journalism electives, with at least 2 reporting electives
• A 2-credit directed reading for the Master's project
• Master's project

CLACS Requirements

• Two required Introductory courses:
  • Iberian-Atlantic and Colonial Perspectives
  • Hemispheric and Postcolonial Perspectives
• Four area studies electives
• A separate 20-page paper for CLACS, in addition to the Journalism master's project

Credit Distribution

The program is divided into 46 credits, with 22 credits dedicated to Journalism and 24 credits dedicated to CLACS. The Journalism component includes a 2-credit directed reading for the Master's project, while the CLACS component includes a separate 20-page paper.
