Program Overview

The Praktikum Entwicklung von Augmented Reality Applikationen: Storytelling in AR is a university program that focuses on the development of augmented reality applications. The program is a collaboration between the Institut für Informatik and the Institut für Rundfunktechnik (IRT).

• Module: Master P5.0.2 or P5.0.4: Gruppenpraktikum zu fortgeschrittenen Themen der Informatik I or Informatik II
• Recognition: Also recognizable for P2, P3, or P6 (Vertiefende Themen für Master) after consultation with the examination committee

Current Information

The introduction days (May 15/16) will take place in the home office. The things that need to be prepared in advance can be found in the sent email and in the Trello board.

Content

The program will work on future-oriented solutions for the use of augmented reality in television in cooperation with the IRT. The ideas will be implemented as prototypes and presented. The lectures during the program will be held in German.

Application

Interested Master-Medieninformatik students can apply for this program through the UniWorX central registration. All applications should include:

• A description of relevant specialist knowledge, such as from previous courses, jobs, and other projects, demonstrating skills in one or more of the following areas: programming, Unity, Augmented/Virtual Reality, user experience, user studies, prototyping. Self-assessment of knowledge in each of these areas on a scale of 1 (no prior knowledge) to 5 (expert knowledge).
• A brief description of motivation for participating in this course.

• Saturday, May 16, 2020 (10:00-17:00, zoom): Elaboration of the project idea
• Friday, May 22, 2020: Submission of project exposé (Uni2work)
• Monday, May 25, 2020: Submission of project presentation (Uni2work)
• Tuesday, June 9, 2020 (11:00-15:00): Presentation to representatives of the broadcasting institutions
• Monday, June 29, 2020: Submission of proposals (Uni2work)
• Friday, July 3, 2020 (10:00-12:00): Presentation of proposals
• Friday, July 17, 2020 (10:00-12:00): Tutorials
• Monday-Friday, September 7-11, 2020 (full-time): Implementation week
• Friday, September 11, 2020 (13:00-17:00): Final presentation
