NEFF Design Workshop
The NEFF Design Workshop is a university program that aims to develop new interaction concepts for kitchen appliances of the future. The program is a collaboration between the university and BSH Bosch and Siemens Hausger‰te GmbH, particularly the NEFF brand.
Program Description
The program brings together students from the Medieninformatik department and the Industriedesign department of the Hochschule M¸nchen to develop new interaction and design concepts. The workshop starts with a kick-off event at the International Training Center of NEFF in Bretten, followed by project work in a project room at the Hochschule M¸nchen. The goal is to create a functional prototype by the end of the semester.
Program Structure
- The program consists of a series of workshops and project work.
- The workshop takes place on Thursdays from 16-18 Uhr.
- The program starts with an introductory event, followed by project work and a final presentation.
Admission Criteria
- The program is open to students with an interest in human-machine interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Students are required to have basic knowledge in the field of Mensch-Maschine-Interaktion.
- Admission is based on a motivation letter, which should include:
- Name
- Course of study and specialization
- Semester
- Relevant prior knowledge
- A brief explanation of why the student wants to participate in the program
Program Details
- The program is worth 3 ECTS credits.
- The program can be taken as a "Praktikum Mediengestaltung" in the diploma program or as a "Projektkompetenz Multimedia" in the bachelor's program.
- The program is taught by Prof. Butz and Prof. Naumann, with support from Alexander Wiethoff and Tobias Schmidt.
