Introduction to the Hospitality Administration Program

The Georgia State B.B.A. in Hospitality Administration program provides a well-integrated curriculum with a focus on general business and hospitality, incorporating courses on the arts and sciences to prepare students for management positions in the hospitality industry.


Program Details

  • Duration and Credit Hours: The degree requires completion of 120 credit hours. A student can expect to complete the degree in four years by taking 15 credit hours per semester (fall and spring).
  • Location: Classes can be taken at the Atlanta Campus or online.
  • Application Deadlines: Students may enter the program in the fall, spring, or summer. Specific deadlines for high school students, transfer students, and international students are outlined below.

  • Industry Field Study Requirement: All students majoring in hospitality administration must have practical industry experience to be approved for graduation.
  • Recommended Elective Courses: Hospitality majors may choose from a variety of Robinson courses as electives, including event management, hotel management, private club management, franchising entrepreneurship, venue management, equality management, and other industry-specific courses.

  • Help Plan a Major Conference: The School of Hospitality is a co-founder and sponsor of the annual Hunter Hotel Conference, one of the top three hotel investment and development conferences in the nation.
  • Earn Industry Certifications: Opportunities to earn certifications such as Certification in Hospitality Industry Analytics, ServSafe Certification in Food Safety and Sanitation, CVent Certification in Event Marketing, and Certification in Digital Marketing.
  • Attend Industry Events: Students can attend events like the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau Hospitality Hall of Fame, Georgia Restaurant Association GRACE Awards Gala, and more.
  • Get a Taste of Global Hospitality: The European Hospitality Experience incorporates tours of major hospitality operations in Europe, focusing on food and beverage production, hospitality service operations, marketing, tourism, event management, customer service, and sustainable practices.
