Diploma in Small Animal Medicine
Introduction
The Diploma in Small Animal Medicine is a theoretical program aimed at updating and deepening the knowledge of veterinary medical professionals working in the field of Small Animal Clinic.
Objective
The central objective of this program is to develop clinical thinking based on medical evidence, providing greater security in diagnostic and therapeutic decision-making.
Modules
The program consists of the following modules:
- Hematology, Clinical Biochemistry, and Therapeutics
- Feline Medicine
- Emergencies and Intensive Care
- Neurology and Toxicology
- Respiratory Medicine
- Cardiology
- Nephrourology
- Dermatology
- Endocrinology
- Oncology
- Gastroenterology
Evaluation Methodology
- Each module is evaluated with a written test, with grades ranging from 1 to 7.
- The minimum passing grade for each evaluation is 4.0, with a 70% difficulty level.
- The Diploma is approved with an average of all evaluations greater than or equal to 4.0.
- The grade for Clinical Cases (group) is considered as an additional evaluation in the average and is a requirement for approval of the Diploma, with a grade of 4.0 or higher.

- Veterinary Doctors and graduates of Veterinary Medicine

- The program is organized by the Small Animal Medicine Group of the Department of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary and Livestock Sciences.
Value
- The annual value of the program is 86 UF for Chilean students, and US$3,400 for foreign students.
