Programme graduates are future leaders of the digital and sustainable era. The programme provides students with in-depth knowledge about data-based decision-making and analytics and allows them to specialise in different business domains.

Structure of Studies

The Business Analytics Programme comprises a total of 120 ECTS credits. The two-year programme consists of:


  • Business Analytics studies including analytics, programming, and data management (60 ECTS), includes Master's Thesis (30 ECTS)
  • Specialisation in your chosen business domain (30 ECTS)
  • Electives (30 ECTS) which can include exchange studies or internship

Specialisations

Specialisation is built mainly through advanced studies, where students may choose courses.


Internationalisation

About 40% of the students are international and the studies give graduates good opportunities for working in international businesses.

Evaluation Criteria 2026

Applicants meeting Aalto's general eligibility criteria for master's studies are evaluated and ranked according to the evaluation criteria decided in advance for each study option.


Admission Group 1: Bachelor's Degree from a University in Finland

  • Relevance of previous studies: Previous studies must include at least 18 ECTS credits of studies that give ability to start the advanced studies in the programme.
  • Academic performance: Applicants with a weighted GPA of previous degree lower than 3.50 are not eligible for admission.
  • Suitability: Motivational letter and CV are evaluated.

Admission Group 2: Bachelor's Degree from a University of Applied Science in Finland or from a Higher Education Institution Abroad

  • Relevance of previous studies: Previous studies must include at least 24 ECTS credits of such studies that give ability to start the advanced studies in the programme.
  • Academic performance: Overall evaluation of previous studies; applicants must demonstrate good academic performance.
  • Standardized tests: GMAT or GRE is obligatory (minimum score 600 in GMAT, 555 in GMAT Focus edition or GRE score of 157 verbal reasoning - 158 quantitative reasoning).
  • Suitability: Motivational letter and CV are evaluated.
