Introduction to the MS® MIRIS Program
The Specialized Master's degree from Mines Paris – PSL offers an opportunity to specialize or acquire dual skills that are immediately operational in the corporate world. The MS® MIRIS (Advanced Master Program in Mineral Resources and Extractive Industries Management) is designed to empower professionals in the mining and quarrying industries to sustainably integrate mining projects.

The MS® MIRIS program covers all phases—from exploration to production and post-mining operations—focusing on aligning projects with both physical and social environments. By enrolling in the MS® MIRIS, you will become a responsible professional in the mineral resources sector, equipped to tackle global industry challenges and drive sustainable practices in mining.

Theoretical and Practical Training
The program is structured into three comprehensive parts, beginning with a 7-month intensive teaching phase. This phase includes a core curriculum and three specialized options:
- Open-pit and Underground Mining Operations: This option delves into the technical and operational aspects of surface and underground mining, covering topics such as geomechanics, water management, deposit modeling, and resource assessment.
- Exploration and Deposit Modeling: This option focuses on advanced exploration techniques and deposit modeling, integrating geostatistics, resource evaluation, and geological uncertainty analysis.
- Mineral Processing and Upgrading: This module covers the entire spectrum of mineral beneficiation and processing, from the characterization of the mineral/water interface to advanced processing techniques.
Program Details
- Location: Fontainebleau or Nancy, France
- Duration: 12 months of intensive, hands-on learning
- Languages: Bilingual program in English and French
- Tuition Fees:
- €7,500 for individual candidates
- €15,000 for company-sponsored candidates
Admission Criteria
To apply for the MS® MIRIS program, candidates must submit the following documents:
- CV: Detailing academic and professional background
- Cover Letter: Outlining motivations for joining the program
- Passport: Photocopy of the first page
- Degree(s): Copies of relevant degrees
- Academic Transcripts: If graduated less than 5 years ago or have less than 5 years of post-graduation experience
Selection Process
The selection process involves reviewing the application and supporting documents, followed by a potential test to assess basic computer skills (Word and Excel). Final candidates will be invited to an interview to evaluate their fit for the program.
Certification
The Specialized Master's degree is certified by the Specialized Master's® quality label, a collective trademark registered and filed with the INPI (French National Institute of Industrial Property), owned by the Conférence des grandes écoles, and is awarded to a 12-month program leading to a post-master's degree (Bac+6).
