Bachelor of Arts in Business and Economics

Major in Business

The Major in Business allows students to receive a label on their diploma indicating a specialization in business-related topics. The significance of having a major in the job market is ambiguous, and students should not overestimate its importance. A major can facilitate entry into the job market but may also limit mobility.

Grundstudium (Foundation Studies)

Ideally, students begin their studies in the fall semester. In full-time studies, students take 30 credit points per semester. Depending on their personal situation, it may be sensible to take fewer or more credit points.

All courses in the foundation studies are compulsory and must be completed at the University of Basel. Students have passed the foundation studies if they have earned all 60 credit points from the specified courses.
