Introduction to the Department of English Literature and Culture

The Department of English Literature and Culture offers undergraduate and graduate programs. The undergraduate program is designed to meet the requirements for the Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature. The graduate program includes seminar courses and research in specialized fields, leading to the acquisition of a Master's Degree in Specialization (M.D.E.) and a Doctoral Diploma (D.D.), respectively.

Program Objectives

The Department aims to educate students to develop their critical thinking skills through the reading and analysis of English literature and culture texts from the Middle Ages to the Modern Era. The primary goal of the Department is to train professionals (teachers, writers, and editors) who can function effectively in modern multicultural and dialogical societies.

Research and Publications

The Department of English Literature and Culture aims to promote the advancement of its members in academic research, scientific publications, and other activities that promote knowledge and creativity. In collaboration with the Department of American Literature and Culture, it publishes the scientific journal /GRAMMA and co-organizes the seminars 'Problematics of Culture and Theory'.
