Master in Law and Economics

Overview

The Master in Law and Economics (MDE) is an interdisciplinary program that responds to the growing need for expertise in a context of technological and societal change. Since its creation, the MDE has graduated over 500 students, who have become key players in various economic sectors. The program is jointly offered by HEC Lausanne and the Faculty of Law, and it stands out for its focus on commercial and financial law, business management, and taxation.


Program Details

  • Grade: Master of Law (MLaw) in Law and Economics
  • Responsible Department: Department of Business Law and Taxation (D-DAF) in collaboration with the Faculty of Law, Criminal Sciences, and Public Administration of the UNIL
  • Credits: 90 ECTS credits distributed over 4 modules
  • Duration: 3 semestres
  • Language of Instruction: French, with some courses in English

Academic Characteristics

The MDE program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in law, economics, and business management. The program includes courses in contract law, commercial law, taxation, finance, accounting, and business strategy.
