Blended Intensive Program - CIVIS

Attractiveness, Branding, and Governance of Cities and Urban Regions: A Multidisciplinary Approach

This program is part of the CIVIS Alliance and is designed in collaboration with partner universities. It brings together students from across Europe to tackle the issue of cities' attractiveness, governance, and image.

Presentation

The notions of place and attractiveness have become central to societies. Places are economically, socially, and culturally homogenous entities that transcend political boundaries. The management of these places poses problems to be solved, including political and governance levels, strategy, and branding and marketing measures.

Objectives

The program aims to achieve five learning objectives:

• Build reflexivity by questioning practices and adapting them to a complex territorial environment
• Experiment with a scientific approach by deploying mixed methods to analyze territorial attractiveness
• Mobilize a multidisciplinary approach to analyze territorial attractiveness
• Mobilize tools directly linked to practice
• Mobilize a systemic analysis tool for sustainable development

Target Audience

Bachelor/Master, Master/PhD students of CIVIS member universities. Special criteria and processes apply to students from member universities outside the European Union.

CIVIS Alliance - BIPs

This Blended Intensive Program is offered as part of the CIVIS alliance, a multicultural and multilingual European university formed by eleven leading higher education institutions. BIPs are hybrid intensive programs that combine online teaching with a short physical mobility period, bringing together students from across the Alliance.
