Program Overview

The Diplôme d'Université (DU) in Sciences and Technologies is a university diploma program that aims to develop a professional culture around young children. The program is designed for professionals and actors in the fields of animation, education, and early childhood.


Program Description

The program consists of five modules:


  • Module 1: Accompanying the psychomotor, affective, cognitive, and social development of young children from 2 to 6 years old.
  • Module 2: Accompanying the language development of children from 2 to 6 years old.
  • Module 3: Managing time and space in response to the needs of young children.
  • Module 4: Welcoming children and their families.
  • Module 5: Professional development and cross-disciplinary perspectives.

Program Objectives

The program aims to:


  • Favor the necessary articulation between different professionals in early childhood to provide quality care for children.
  • Acquire updated knowledge and skills concerning young children and their accompaniment.
  • Put different professionals in early childhood around the same axis of reflection.
  • Accompany dynamics of training and allow the constitution of poles able to deploy training resources between a plurality of professionals in early childhood.

Program Details

  • Duration: 2 semesters.
  • Total Volume of Hours: Minimum 122 hours.
  • Session Dates: From October 16, 2024, to June 19, 2024.
  • Language of Instruction: French.
  • Location: The program is mainly delivered at the INSPE site in Lyon.

Evaluation Modalities

The evaluation of the student's work will be based on:


  • For individual applications: presentation of a portfolio realized throughout the training, highlighting what the DU has brought in terms of professional development.
  • For collective applications: oral presentation of a training project that will be implemented within a territory, an establishment, or a constituency.

Specificities and Prerequisites

This training does not provide access to a professional qualification but can contribute to adding value to a CV or in the context of a professional reconversion.


Calendar

The courses will take place 2 days/month, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays or Wednesdays and Thursdays, between September 2023 and early July 2024, excluding school vacations.


Target Audience

The program is designed for professionals and actors in the sectors of animation, education, and early childhood.
