Program Overview

The Dipl獽e Inter-Universitaire (DIU) in Deepening in Palliative Care is a university diploma program that aims to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in palliative care. The program is organized by several universities and is designed to be completed in one academic year.


Program Objectives

The program objectives are to:


  • Deepen knowledge in the field of biomedical sciences and medical humanities, to develop an approach centered on the person at the end of life, in their family, social and cultural context.
  • Acquire clinical, therapeutic, relational and ethical skills to ensure the person being treated receives quality care and the best quality of life until their death in complex situations.

Program Structure

The program consists of a series of courses and a research project, which are designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of palliative care. The program is taught over two semesters, with a total duration of one academic year.

  • Have obtained the DU BASES IN PALLIATIVE CARE or an equivalent diploma
  • Have received written approval from the program director
  • Be working or have a project to work in a specialized palliative care structure

  • 1500 for continuing education (individual or employer-funded)
