Bachelor of Built Environment (Honours) (Landscape Architecture)

The Bachelor of Built Environment (Honours) (Landscape Architecture) is a four-year honours degree that equips students with the skills to create sustainable, inclusive, and culturally respectful places. Students learn from industry-connected experts and work on real-world projects, becoming creative problem-solvers ready to tackle global challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, and urbanisation.

What to Expect

In this four-year honours degree, students begin with inter-disciplinary units to learn foundational design skills and knowledge shared across the architectural and built environment professions. Intermediate units focus on landscape architecture specific knowledge, skills, and applications. The final year elevates learning to a pre-professional level, with students immersed in a collaborative learning environment to demonstrate acquired skills and knowledge in complex projects.


Work Integrated Learning

Students are required to complete 15 days (equivalent to 100 hours) of an approved work placement, WIL project, or field trip as part of their Work Integrated Learning core unit.


Careers and Outcomes

With a landscape architecture degree, graduates may work in private practice, government, or non-government organisations, collaborating with other professionals such as architects, horticulturalists, engineers, planners, ecologists, economists, environmental scientists, artists, and health professionals. Graduates can work on projects designing or assessing private or public spaces and are eligible to join the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA).

Requirements

  • ATAR/selection rank threshold: 70.00
  • Assumed knowledge: English, or Literature, or English and Literature Extension, or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 & 4, C)
  • Year 12 early offer scheme: Eligible
  • Offer guarantee: If you achieve an ATAR or selection rank of 70.00 or higher and satisfy all other admission requirements, you are guaranteed an offer.
  • VET guarantee: If you have completed an AQF certificate IV, diploma, or higher and satisfy all other admission requirements, you are guaranteed an offer.

  • 2026: CSP $10,400 per year full-time (96 credit points)
