The Business, Economics, Law and Social Sciences International Foundation Year provides the subject knowledge, language proficiency, and study skills necessary to progress to degree study at the University of Surrey in a related field.
About this Route
During the International Foundation Year, students will study a core unit of general subject skills, subject-specific units, and elective units, carefully designed for academic development.

Law and Social Sciences Route
- Law: Provides a foundational understanding of law and its practical applications, introducing students to key concepts, principles, and frameworks of the English legal system.

Additional Conditions for Certain Degrees
There may be additional entry criteria and/or an audition or interview required for entry onto certain programs, such as Musical Theatre, Theatre Production, English Literature programs, and Language programs. For progression to degrees that include a language, the European or Modern Language must be studied for a further year and not solely high school completion. An ab initio pathway may be available where the language has not been taken at A-Level.
