Das Besondere des Studiengangs

Studienverlauf
The study program is structured over four semesters, with a focus on:
- 1. Semester: Deepening statistical knowledge, lectures on media markets, and current topics in media-economic research and practice.
- 2. Semester: Starting a one-year research project on current media management topics, media business administration, and seminars on analyzing the media industry's framework conditions.
- 3. Semester: Completing the research project, deepening media-economic knowledge, practical project management exercises, and a seminar on the current state of media management research.
- 4. Semester: Practical application of knowledge in a project with a media company, seminar on current media-economic developments, and completion of the master's thesis and oral examination.
Auslandsaufenthalte
While not mandatory, the program offers the opportunity for a stay abroad, either self-organized or through exchange programs, to learn another language and culture and gain a different perspective on the field.
Praktika
The program includes a compulsory 12-week internship in media management, which can be completed at any time during the study period. This internship provides valuable practical experience and can be recognized as part of the study program.
Berufsorientierung
Graduates are qualified for leadership positions in media companies and related institutions, possessing a diverse portfolio of knowledge and skills, including:
- Comprehensive knowledge in various media-economic areas

Zugangsvoraussetzungen
Admission requirements include a bachelor's degree from a university or a comparable degree, with 140 credit points in economics, communications, or media science, including at least 60 credit points in economics and 12 credit points in methodology (including statistics). For international students, proof of German language proficiency is required if their previous education was not in German.
