Introduction to ColMusiKuss
ColMusiKuss is a music educational series offered by the Collegium musicum at Johannes Gutenberg-Universitšt Mainz. The program is designed for school classes and private individuals, with the primary target audience being children. All events take place on weekdays during the morning hours.
Requirements for Participation
To participate in ColMusiKuss events, children must be accompanied by an adult or a responsible person. The program welcomes private registrations, provided that the child is accompanied by a guardian or an authorized adult.
Events in 2025
The following events are scheduled for 2025:
- "Zwischen Jazz und Klassik ..." - A children's concert experience featuring the clarinet concerto by Artie Shaw, in collaboration with the Seminar for Concert Pedagogy/BŁhnenperformance of the HfMM, led by Prof. Felix Koch.
- Date: Tuesday, July 1, 2025
- Time: 10:00 AM
- Location: Red Hall of the Hochschule fŁr Musik on the JGU campus
- "3-2-1: Orgel!" - The first organ festival for children and youth aged 6 to 15, in cooperation with the ORGELwochen of the Kultursommer Rheinland-Pfalz, at various locations in Mainz's city center.
- Dates: Friday, August 1, to Sunday, August 3, 2025
- Public closing concert: August 3, 2025, at 5:00 PM, Hochschule fŁr Musik der JGU
- "Von Burgen, Rittern und Drachen" - A children's concert in collaboration with the Landespolizeiorchester Rheinland-Pfalz, led by Florian Weber.
- Dates: Tuesday, September 23, and Wednesday, September 24, 2025
- Times: 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM
- Location: Alte Mensa on the JGU campus
- "Harry Potter - Musikalische Zauberei" - An online project led by Prof. Felix Koch.

Executing Artists
The Collegium musicum of JGU Mainz, along with guest ensembles and soloists, will perform at these events. Prof. Felix Koch is responsible for the musical and pedagogical overall direction.
