Introduction to the Bachelor of Journalism Program

The Bachelor of Journalism (BJ) program at Carleton University is internationally renowned and has produced many of the top journalists in Canada and around the world. The Bachelor of Journalism program is designed to provide students with high-calibre professional training and academic instruction. Students take courses outside of Journalism and can pursue a second major in another field. Concentrations and Degrees

Carleton University offers a Bachelor of Journalism with a concentration in Health Sciences, in partnership with the Faculty of Science. Additionally, the university offers a Bachelor of Journalism and Humanities degree.

  • This course charts a history of the fourth estate in the West from the invention of the printing press to the ascendance of networked digital communication, focusing on the political, economic, and technological contexts that have shaped the news media as institutions and industries.
• JOUR 3235 - Digital Journalism
  • Further development of digital journalism skills, producing journalism for online audiences using formats including written and spoken language, still and moving images.
