Program Content and Format

The program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the air transport industry. To enroll, students must follow a series of steps:

• Step 1: Select the stream in which you are interested.
• Step 2: Select your elective from the list of available courses (a course not in the list can be selected with the permission of the registration counsellor).
• Step 3: Fill out the registration form.

Choosing a Stream

Students can choose to specialize in one of the following streams:

• Airline stream
• Airport stream
• Safety stream
• Security stream
• Environmental stream

Required Courses (All Streams)

All students are required to take the following courses:

• Fundamentals of the Air Transport System: This course provides a roadmap to understanding the air transport industry, combining economic and business principles, public policy, law, and international relations. It offers a practitioner's perspective to integrate theoretical concepts with real-life decisions in the air transport ecosystem.
• Public Policy and Regulation for Civil Aviation: This course covers regulatory governance in civil aviation, including how governments exercise their formal legislative authority and the impact of stakeholders' influence on policy making. It also introduces IATA's Smarter Regulation Initiative.
• Air Transport Economics: This course introduces fundamental concepts of economic analysis with specific application to airline operations and the air transport industry. It covers the role of regulation and state policy decisions, enabling students to assess current and emerging industry trends and issues.

Each stream has a required course:

• Airline Stream: Airline Business Foundations with Management Game
• Airport Stream: Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) in Airport and Ground Operations
• Safety Stream: Safety Management Systems (SMS) for Airlines
• Security Stream: Aviation Security Management
• Environmental Stream: Aviation and the Environment
