نظرة عامة على البرنامج
ELECTRONICS 2
Overview
This module provides the theoretical and experimental basis for understanding, analyzing, and designing electronic circuits and electronic systems that make use of bipolar, field-effect transistors, and operational amplifiers. Moreover, experimental aspects will be addressed by lab sessions in which simple circuits will be simulated, assembled, and tested.
Aims and Content
Learning Outcomes
Providing the necessary elements to tackle the problems related to the design and testing of electronic devices and circuits. Comprehend the different issues related to the development of electronic circuits, including circuit design, implementation methodologies, and lab testing. Develop simple projects starting from given specifications.
Aims and Learning Outcomes
The teaching unit aims to provide the student with the knowledge and operational skills necessary to address problems related to the study, design, and testing of simple electronic systems with particular attention to analog ones. The student will be able to:
- Understand the methods of analysis, design, development, and experimental verification of electronic circuits.
- Develop hardware projects starting from assigned specifications, build them, verify their functionality and performance in the laboratory, and finally, draw up the related documentation.
Prerequisites
It is advisable to have taken the exams in Circuit Theory and Electronics.
Teaching Methods
- Classroom lectures
- Laboratory sessions: creation of sample circuits in groups (preferably with two students), drafting a summary report (to be assessed during the exam).
Syllabus/Content
The program will be divided into the following main topics:
- Real operational amplifiers: static and dynamic characteristics and related parameters.
- Use of operational amplifiers in linear and non-linear circuits.
- Waveform generators.
- A/D and D/A converters.
- Static and dynamic electrical characteristics of CMOS and TTL logic gates and analysis of their operation.
- Introduction to voltage regulators.
