نظرة عامة على البرنامج

Program Overview

The Intercultural Geography program is designed to develop skills that foster participatory inclusion between different societies through reflection and awareness of territorial identity. It is a kind of intercultural reading of the organization of space.

Aims and Content

Learning Outcomes

The course intends to present the stages of evolution of intercultural geography, understood as significant support in the complex construction of identity. Specific objectives include:

  • Understanding the meaning of basic geographical concepts (space, territory, landscape, place, region)
  • Acquiring adequate knowledge and effective understanding of the cultural diversity of various populations
  • Enabling students to apply knowledge and understand and solve problems in different application contexts
  • Interpreting socio-territorial dynamics and factors determining the impact of human activities on the environment and landscape

Teaching Methods

The course will be organized by alternating between lectures and participatory teaching. Lectures will focus on identifying and understanding basic knowledge, while participatory teaching will be based on problem-based strategies aimed at stimulating the ability to analyze certain issues relating to contemporary territorial processes.

Syllabus/Content

The course aims to provide a framework for topics such as population distribution, cultural elements, globalization, migration, and intercultural approaches for active and inclusive citizenship. Particular attention will be paid to cities and "non-places" of interculturalism.
