The Investments program introduces students to the knowledge of financial investments and the functioning of financial markets. It deals with the evaluation of risk and return of single securities and portfolio, aiming at the understanding of portfolio management techniques.

It aims at the understanding of portfolio management techniques, providing students with basic knowledge of techniques applied in portfolio management and skills useful for a career in asset management.
Aims and Learning Outcomes
The course is designed to introduce students to the knowledge of financial investments and the functioning of financial markets, focusing on the evaluation of risk and return of single securities and portfolio. By the end of the course, students will achieve a basic understanding of portfolio management techniques and obtain skills useful for a career in asset management.
Prerequisites
Statistics and econometrics, together with financial math, are necessary prerequisites. Accounting basics are also recommended.
Teaching Methods
The course will be taught through face-to-face classes and workshops. Students with valid certification of physical or learning disabilities who wish to discuss possible accommodations or other circumstances regarding lectures, coursework, and exams should speak with the instructor and the Department's disability liaison, Professor Elena Lagomarsino.

Exam Description
The exam will be a written examination in English. Students who fail the exam can repeat it with no limitations. Students who fail to show up at the exam and do not inform the instructor at least one day in advance will not be allowed to sit the exam on the following date.
