Introduction to the Conservation of Cultural Heritage Program
The Conservation of Cultural Heritage program at the University of Genoa is a three-year undergraduate degree that aims to provide students with theoretical, methodological, and practical skills in the management of cultural heritage. The program is structured into three curricula: Archaeological Heritage, Archival and Library Heritage, and Historical-Artistic Heritage.

Curriculum
The program offers three curricula:
Curriculum in Archaeological Heritage
- Solid preparation in the knowledge, use, and conservation of archaeological heritage
- Adequate knowledge of history from antiquity to the modern age and historical-literary sources
- Scientific knowledge useful for a better understanding of ancient cultures
Curriculum in Archival and Library Heritage
- Solid preparation in the methodologies of conservation and cataloging of library and documentary material
- Knowledge of history and sources analyzed both from a content and formal point of view and in production, conservation, and safeguarding techniques
- Knowledge of themes related to the conservation and cataloging of library and archival heritage
Curriculum in Historical-Artistic Heritage
- Acquisition of extensive knowledge related to the dynamics of artistic production from the Middle Ages to the contemporary era
- Acquisition of critical tools for the analysis of the work of art according to a plurality of methodological approaches
- Maturation of autonomous ability to read oriented to the knowledge of the relationship between the territory, its culture, forms of social organization, and artistic production

- The program includes, in addition to frontal lessons, experiences of internship in museums, on the territory, and at archaeological sites.
- From 2011 to 2017, 650 students of Cultural Heritage welcomed over 450,000 visitors to the Palazzi dei Rolli UNESCO site in Genoa.
- The artistic heritage of Genoa is increasingly appreciated in Italy and abroad, generating new professional opportunities.
