Objectives and Contents
Educational Objectives
The course aims to provide students with basic notions in conventional radiology, focusing on the mechanisms and precautions that lead to the formation of radiological images through basic techniques. Topics range from the nomenclature of electromagnetic waves to the digital archiving of images.
Expected Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Recognize the characteristics of X-rays
- Describe the elements that constitute an X-ray tube
- Describe the formation of the radiating image
- Apply precautions for a quality radiological image
- Distinguish systems for reducing scattered radiation
- Classify direct and indirect radiology
- Compare various digital detectors
- Distinguish acquisition systems within a radiological-fluoroscopic room
Teaching Methods
- The course is taught in presence with slides.
