Objectives and Contents

Educational Objectives (Detail) and Learning Outcomes

The course aims to provide students with basic notions in the field of Communication to develop a reflection on the pragmatic effects of human communication.

Expected learning outcomes:

• Know the main theoretical approaches to human communication
• Recognize the communicative aspects according to the pragmatic-relational approach
• Analyze the context in which communication develops
• Reflect on the characteristics of normal and pathological language
• Critically describe the mass media communication
• Reflect on one's own way of entering into communication with others

Teaching Methods

The topics will be presented through the use of slides, favoring group discussion on what is exposed. Two meetings are planned in the SIMAV simulation room to experiment with one's own communicative methods.

• The main approaches to the study of communication
• The pragmatics of human communication: the five axioms of human communication
• Systemic theory
• Passive, aggressive, and assertive communication style
• Mass media, digital identity, and introduction to artificial intelligence
