Program Overview
The program in question is "RAPPRESENTAZIONE PER IL DISEGNO INDUSTRIALE" (Representation for Industrial Design), which is part of the university's course offerings.
Program Details
- Code: Not specified
- Academic Year: 2025/2026
- CFU (University Formative Credits): 6 CFU for the first year, specifically for the "DESIGN DEL PRODOTTO NAUTICO" (Design of Nautical Products) course.
- Scientific Disciplinary Sector: ICAR/17
- Language: Italian
- Location: La Spezia
Presentation
The course is focused on the fundamentals of drawing, particularly the conventions and practices used in the naval field. It aims to provide students with a deep understanding of representation as a language for effectively formulating different phases of design, both cognitive and propositional.
Objectives and Contents
Educational Objectives
The module aims to deepen the foundations of drawing with particular regard to the conventions and practices used in the naval field. It proposes the interpretation of representation as a language through which to formulate effectively different phases, both cognitive and propositional.
Detailed Educational Objectives and Learning Outcomes
The course starts with the development of the main conventions that regulate graphic expression to then deepen the methods of representation, such as orthogonal projections, axonometric projections, and perspective. The objective is to lead the student to graphic expressive autonomy.
Prerequisites
None
Didactic Methods
The course is organized with a series of lessons that include a first part of theoretical deepening followed by an applicative exercise. Each exercise is handed over by the student and corrected in the next lesson. The final evaluation is based on the average of the votes of the exercises delivered and the vote obtained in a final test.
Program/Content
The program is articulated around the following themes:
- Definitions of conventions and fundamental elements of drawing
- Principles of projective and descriptive geometry
- Orthogonal projections
- Sections and applications such as the Construction Plan
- Axonometry: three-dimensional narratives and formal investigations
- Perspective: project sketch and representation of perceptual aspects
Texts/Bibliography
The reference texts are:
- Boffito Maura, "Dentro la geometria" (Inside Geometry), Graphic Sector
- Boffito Maura, "Teoria e pratica dei metodi di rappresentazione" (Theory and Practice of Representation Methods), Genova, Il Libraccio, 2003
Teachers and Commissions

As per the academic calendar.
Lesson Schedule
The schedule for this course can be consulted at the EasyAcademy portal.
Exams
Exam Method
The final exam consists of a drawing test on a theme chosen in advance and agreed upon with the teacher. The final test is aimed at demonstrating the acquisition of the graphic expression ability necessary for the 'visual' narration of a theme.
Assessment Method
The assessment of the acquired abilities is conducted both in itinere with the evaluation of monotematic exercises and with the development of the final test.
Exam Calendar
- Date: 16/01/2026, 10:00, Genova, Written
- Date: 13/02/2026, 10:00, La Spezia, Written
- Date: 18/06/2026, 10:00, La Spezia, Laboratory
Other Information
Students with disabilities or DSA can request compensatory/dispensative measures for the exam.
