نظرة عامة على البرنامج
Program Overview
The University of Genoa offers a comprehensive program in Science of Constructions and Hydraulics, providing students with a solid foundation in the principles of mechanics and structures.
Program Details
- Code: 66281
- Academic Year: 2025/2026
- CFU: 12 CFU in the second year for Naval Engineering 8722 (L-9) - Genoa
- Location: Genoa
Prerequisites
To take this course, students must have passed the following exams:
- INGEGNERIA NAVALE 8722 (cohort 2024/2025)
- GEOMETRIA
- FISICA GENERALE
- ANALISI MATEMATICA 1A
- ANALISI MATEMATICA 1B
Course Modules
The program consists of two modules:
- Idrodinamica (Hydraulics): Provides the scientific basis and illustrates simple techniques for solving problems involving fluids, assuming negligible heat exchange.
- Scienza delle Costruzioni (Science of Constructions): Offers the basics for studying the mechanics of solids and structures, enabling students to solve linear problems related to the cinematic and static response of mechanical systems, aimed at structural design in the elastic field.
Educational Objectives
The course introduces students to complementary disciplines of Solid Mechanics (first module) and Fluid Mechanics (second module), providing theoretical knowledge, engineering sensitivity, and operational capabilities to address elastic linear problems of increasing difficulty for deformable bodies and simple fluid-related problems.
Teaching Methods
Refer to the individual module sheets for detailed information on teaching methods.
Examination Methods
The exam is divided into two parts, one for each module, held in separate sessions. It is possible to take the tests for the two modules in different academic years. The final grade is the average of the grades obtained in the two modules, rounded to the next whole number. The exam is passed with honors only if both modules are passed with honors.
Examination Schedule
Refer to the calendar for specific dates and times of the exam sessions.
Faculty and Examination Board
- Giovanna Vittori
- Marco Lepidi
The examination board is composed of several professors, including Giovanna Vittori as President and Marco Lepidi as Deputy President.
Quality and Sustainability
The program aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
- Quality Education: Ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.
- Gender Equality: Achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls.
By focusing on these objectives, the program contributes to the development of skilled professionals who can address complex challenges in their field while promoting sustainability and equality.
