Master of Natural Resources (MNR) Program

The Master of Natural Resources (MNR) is a non-thesis degree.

Program Overview

The MNR program offers a Professional Forester option designed for individuals with baccalaureate degrees in fields other than forestry who are interested in becoming Registered Foresters in Alabama.

Program Structure

This track is a two-year program that begins with a 10-week summer Field Practicum.

Program Requirements

The program requires a minimum of 64 semester hours, which includes:

• 34 hours of specified undergraduate course work
  • This component is designed to provide foundational knowledge in forestry.
• 30 hours of graduate course work
  • This component is aimed at advancing the student's understanding and skills in forestry practices and management.
