Master of Laws Programme

The Master of Laws Programme aims to produce graduates with a high level of knowledge in the field of law, skilled in analyzing and evaluating issues, professionally criticizing and contributing towards the development of national law.


Programme Details

  • Programme Code: LQA
  • Programme Duration:
    • Minimum: 2 normal semesters and 1 special semester (1-1.5 years)
    • Maximum: 8 semesters (4 years)
  • Mode of Study: Coursework
  • Delivery Method: Conventional, attending classes physically at the campus (starting at 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, weekdays)

Entry Requirement

  1. A Bachelor of Laws with a CGPA of 3.0 and above or its equivalent.
  2. A Bachelor of Laws with a CGPA from 2.70 to 2.99 and one of the following criteria:
  • Relevant work experience (3 years)
  • Publication in the relevant field
  • Applicant is a scholarship holder
  • Applicant is a Universiti Malaya graduate
  • Applicant is a civil servant
  1. A Bachelor of Laws with a CGPA from 2.50 to 2.69 and two of the following criteria:
  • Relevant work experience (5 years)
  • Publication in the relevant field
  • Applicant is a scholarship holder
  • Applicant is a Universiti Malaya graduate
  • Applicant is a civil servant

Language Requirement

  • English Language for Non-Malaysians: TOEFL score 600 or IELTS (Academic) band 6.00
  • Bahasa Malaysia for Malaysians: Passed in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)
  • Bahasa Malaysia for Non-Malaysians: Required to attend and pass a course in Bahasa Malaysia conducted by the University before being conferred the Degree
