Description and Teaching Objectives

This Degree offers solid basic knowledge and capabilities needed to develop professional skills useful in various fields of communication, especially in journalism, publishing, scientific communication, museums, and multimedia. Students are provided with the main tools to understand communication processes and information transmission techniques, both traditional and recent: they are trained to combine communication techniques and technology with humanities, critically applying them to the problems of contemporary times.

The course is divided into three different curricula, each of which provides a basis to further pursue one's studies and teach in middle and upper schools.

  • The aesthetic-scientific curriculum specifically targets the communication and dissemination of scientific research contents and methods, as well as the aesthetic experience. It also prepares students for a Master Degree in philosophical and journalistic-editorial studies, as well as Vocational Masters (first level) in scientific or aesthetic-museum dissemination.
  • The institutional-political curriculum intends to offer knowledge of the main forms of communication used in the political and institutional framework. To this end, it encourages the deepening of fundamental notions of contemporary politics and its different communication strategies, preparing students for a Master Degree specifically dedicated to historical and political studies.
  • The linguistic-communicative curriculum aims at providing basic knowledge about the Italian publishing industry, new media, and related techniques. The communication skills thus acquired can be a good basis to further pursue one's studies with a Master Degree specifically dedicated to publishing.
