Description and Educational Objectives
The Master's Degree in Scienze della Storia e del Documento aims to form scholars with in-depth historical knowledge and advanced competencies in research methodologies, from a comparative perspective, as well as techniques for the critical use and treatment of documentary sources. The program integrates knowledge from the Italian cultural tradition.
The program includes in-depth studies of medieval, modern, and contemporary history, in their different dimensions, including international, economic, and historical-religious aspects.
Curricula
The program offers four curricula:
- "Public History Divulgazione e didattica della Storia", which provides students with the ability to analyze languages and forms of history dissemination through different expressive means.
- "Storia e culture globali", which aims to provide knowledge in the field of global history and intercultural dialogue.
- The international curriculum in "European History", which releases a double degree, carried out with prestigious European universities within the Unica Consortium.
- The curriculum dedicated to "Medioevo Europeo", which enhances a broad range of disciplines useful also for access to teaching.

Graduates can carry out highly qualified professional activities within institutions with cultural purposes or operating in the field of historical research and management, protection, and conservation of cultural heritage, and specifically, archival and library heritage, with both traditional and technologically advanced forms. They can also pursue careers in higher education and research, work in public and private entities, including those responsible for cultural services and the recovery of local traditions and identities, and be employed in the communication sector, in journalism, and publishing, particularly in the dissemination of information and high-level cultural and literary divulgation.
